Shlomo Sand’s ‘Open Letter to French President’

‘But Sand criticized Macron for inviting Benjamin Netanyahu at the 75th anniversary of deportation of French Jews from Velodrome d’Hiver. He said that Netanyahu was not in the position to represent Nazi Holocaust victims because he himself has been committing Palestinian Holocaust.

“I was rather annoyed by the fact that you invited Benjamin Netanyahu. He should without doubt be ranked in the category of oppressors, and so he cannot parade himself as a representative of the victims of yesteryear,” said Shlomo.’

On August 2, 2017, Israeli historian Shlomo Sand wrote an Open Letter to French president Emmanuel Macron after listening to his knee-jerk statement to please his guest Benjamin Netanyahu, aserial liar and war criminal.

In the letter, Sand thanked Macron for admitting French Holocaust guilt: “In the light of the long tradition of political leaders, both Left and Right, past and present, who have denied France’s participation and responsibility in the deportation of Jewish-origin people to the death camps, I was grateful that you instead took a clear position, without any ambiguity: yes, France is responsible for the deportation, yes there was antisemitism in France before and after the Second World War,” Shlomo said.
