In what is seen as a move to appease Israeli hardliners, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the construction of THIRTY-FIVE HUNDRED more settlements on occupied Palestinian territories.
Reports say Netanyahu issued the order just hours after Tel Aviv released 26 out of thousands of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails. Israel’s Interior Ministry had earlier announced that fifteen-hundred units would be built in Ramat Shlomo in east Jerusalem al-Quds.
The other two-thousand units would be built in other parts of the West Bank. The Palestinian Authority has condemned the move, calling it “destructive” for the so-called peace process. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has also condemned the Israeli settlement activities.
